By bringing together people with different areas of expertise and from all over the world, we got rich ideas and synergies that are hard to find in other venues. We explored new ideas, experienced emerging technologies and we had the opportunity to push the edges of what we know.
We explored where Web 2.0 is going and how it can help us find, attract, develop and retain our talented staffs. We were taken into the virtual world of Second Life and saw demonstrated how Manpower and other recruitment firms are trying to use Second Life as ways to augment their recruiting processes.
We spent time looking at social networks and at how as physical distance becomes less important "virtual" distance - how many people we are away from each other and how often we interact - is becoming more important.
We all took time out to participate in a scanveger hunt of downtown Monterey and historical Cannery Row where Stienbeck wrote his well known books called "Cannery Row" and "Sweet Thursday."
